About Me

I grew up in a small college town in upstate NY. By small, I mean tiny — I graduated high school with the same 6o classmates that I began kindergarten with. But it was a beautiful and scenic place to grow up, and when the mall is an hour’s drive away you learn to find other ways to occupy your time. For me, my activities centered around acting and performing: school musicals, community theatre, and stints as an extra in 2 movies that filmed in my town: a student film directed by Beatrice Alda (Alan Alda’s daughter), and the cult indie Puddle Cruiser. After college, I spent several years in NYC, getting my professional acting career off the ground by working in off-off Broadway and regional theatre, student shorts, and independent films. I moved to Portland, Oregon for a few years for a change of scenery and a new adventure, and briefly studied classical Chinese medicine, which I loved. I found that, interestingly enough, learning about holistic healing,  Taoist spirituality, and our connection to the earth only made me a stronger, more centered, and more giving actor. I am grateful to be back in NYC, living near beautiful Riverside Park, and enjoying how lucky I feel to be an actor in this madly creative city. I love being in nature (I’d love to visit Yellowstone National Park one day), taking long walks, good coffee, playing with my 2 cats, and when I’m disciplined– beginning my day with yoga. I’m very passionate about doing what I can to make the world a better place. For me, that entails being a dedicated vegan (who bakes some mean vegan desserts), and championing causes that address environmental sustainability, climate change, LGBTQIA advocacy, and the mass incarceration epidemic in this country. I believe actors have a unique opportunity through our art to serve as healers and compassionate voices for change. I love acting because it allows me to bring my imagination and collaborative spirit to my life and work. It’s so rewarding to be able to entertain and inspire people through storytelling, while having a lot of fun along the way. I’m always on the lookout for acting work that inspires me and presents a meaningful opportunity. I’m also writing a screenplay for a feature film which I plan to act in and produce. Stay tuned for more details… Thanks for stopping by, have fun exploring, and drop me a line!
